I'd like to be able to color code for different resources, Green/Purple for Iron production, Grey/black for coal etc. It would be much easy to remember what the 16 different color combo's are if they could be labeled.

Maybe expand on the idea a bit. Just a set of "presets" in the colour picker? Or a computer painter that you build in an area and it uses the paint you give it to automatically paint machines in the zone appropriate colours?

Yes, in the edit screen, just add a field where you can name the edited colour selection.  I have a little notepad file I use right now with the colour values and what I am using them for, but being able to add custom names to the edited colours would be a great addition, I think.  Also ,name the default colour as "default" so people know what will happen when/if they edit it.

August 28th update: We've removed downvotes!
