I've been through every post I could find on multiplayer "fixes" and the only thing that has allowed my brother to connect to me is when I port forwarded 53000:65000. Since it's probably not a good idea to have this many ports being forwarded I was wondering if anyone has figured out a more narrow range?

I've tried enabling uPnP and no luck and I've tried 7777,7778 among others that people have mentioned worked for them.

My brother and I also have both the game.exe files as exceptions to windows firewall.

Any ideas? Thank you!

It might be your routers fault.

We had similar issues,  bug in the NAT connection for players joining a game hosted behind a load balancer and we needed port 7770 - 7780 opened up and pointed to the host.

August 28th update: We've removed downvotes! One major reason is because we don't want to discourage folks from posting legitimate suggestions / reports / questions with fear of being mass downvoted (which has been happening a LOT). So we now allow you to upvote what you like, or ignore what you don't. Points have also been adjusted to account for this change.
Please use the search function before posting a new question and upvote existing ones to bring more attention to them, It will help us a lot. <3
