Currently trying to get Assemblers or any multi-input/output per side buildings' conveyors to line up with single input/output per side buildings is a pain, especially with using Ctrl-snapping religiously.

The auto-snap tries to line up the buildings by their center instead of something reasonable like front/back line up to the conveyor outputs/inputs and the sides snap to the center.

You are already calculating the orientation of the building (and by extension, have a "forward" defined) for placement and the conveyor connections already snap once the building is placed so the code should easily be able to figure out where the front/back/left/right side is and where to snap with respect to connections.

You should NOT be using Ctrl snapping. You should be building on foundations. If you build everything on foundations, then everything will snap together according to the grid drawn by the foundations and everything will line up perfectly. Ctrl snapping is only meant to be used in the very early stages of the game when building even a few foundations is an undertaking in and of itself. When you are Ctrl snapping, you are snapping to an arbitrary grid and things get messy very very very quickly. Just don't.

With assemblers, there will be lines on the middle and the two inputs, with the auto-snap with splitters and mergers. I have not tested with conveyors.
