My computer experienced a hard shut down and upon rebooting, Satisfactory will no longer start.  I open Epic launcher, click Satisfactory, and the game logo flashes briefly before the screen goes black and then dumps back to desktop.  Every other Epic launcher game I have works fine, as well as Steam games and other launchers.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled Epic, Satisfactory, and my graphics drivers.  Windows firewall is also set to allow both Epic and Satisfactory to run.  Not sure what else to do.  Any ideas?

Edit- Just checked if the experimental build will run, and it does the same thing.  Crashes after logo, then black screen.

Not sure if this helps, but here is the log I am getting:

[0703/224630.271:ERROR:mf_helpers.cc(12)] Error in dxva_video_decode_accelerator_win.cc on line 1509
[0703/224630.271:ERROR:mf_helpers.cc(12)] Error in dxva_video_decode_accelerator_win.cc on line 626
[0703/224630.271:ERROR:gpu_video_decode_accelerator.cc(375)] HW video decode not available for profile vp8

Looks like it is video card related?  Not sure why nothing else is affected...

Hi, I'm also having a similar issue. I just bought the game installed it, and updated it straight away. I then played it for about 20-30 minutes. Closed it off and did something else. Came back to it and it no longer works. Start up, load screen with logo and closes to bring up Unreal Engine 4 crashed report.

Unlike you, I have owned the game for months and had no issue prior to the hard shutdown.  Unfortunately, the only solution that ended up working for me was a reinstall of windows.  Prior to that, I tried:
-reinstall Satisfactory (multiple times)
-reinstall Epic launcher
-reinstall graphics drivers
-make exceptions for Satisfactory/Epic in Windows Firewall
-multiple computer restarts
-turning off processes (other programs that might be interfering with the game launching)
-deleting log files as recommended by someone on Reddit

I too am having this issue, my log reads the same. Both the Epic games launcher and the game can be seen having various white...cursors, if they were, flashing around the screen. I reach the main menu, graphics are derpin and then crash. The fact it's affecting the game and my Epic Games launcher, specifically the Unreal Engine tab, makes me think it might be more Directx12/windows related.

I've put a lot of hours into the game prior to day, so it's worked before. I ran through the same steps as above, then finally wiped and reinstalled, but the issue remains, the game is not played anymore and it's unclear why.

You are getting farther than I got when I was having the issue.  I never get past a brief "Satisfactory" logo followed by black screen then back to desktop.  I never made it to the main menu.

Hi guys, so I sorted my game out. I don't know if it would work for you all, but all I had to do was update my graphics driver and the game worked. Went into computer settings, found device manager,  display adapters, clicked the driver and updated it (Chose automatic option) and it worked. So if not done already and you game is still broken, try that.
