These sensors would come in handy when you're merging conveyor belts which carry mixed resources or items. We've all had a situation where one item is clogging up the whole system.

With sensors they would "feel" when you're reaching such a clogging point and they would send a signal to the merger to halt that particular resource, keeping the system unclogged.

I know most people use a separate line for each resource but with the higher tiers conveyor belts it can be more efficient (or FPS friendly) to all merge it onto one line.

Of course these sensors could also be used as flow management systems. Like only allow 100 ore/m on the belt (or perfectly synced to the input required by your buildings).

What do you think?

This sounds really nice for resources with 2 craftable products which are transportet to your base by tractor/train. If you have exess of one and be able to stop further output of said resource, you could safe space, time and processing power.

Sounds hard to iplement tho xD

August 28th update: We've removed downvotes! So we now allow you to upvote what you like, or ignore what you don't. Points have also been adjusted to account for this change.
