Hot bar is missing

I have a game now that I have logged 53 hours in. Now f key has stopped working and if I press q my hot bar will dissapear. There seems to be no way to get them to come back. I have restarted the games and went back a few save files. Any ideas? This is a private game. Not multiplayer. Am i just out of luck?

August 28th update: We've removed downvotes!
