Wrong resources turning up in freight platforms

Setup: A single connected train network. Trains setup to only ever have one type of resource in each car.

Bug: Despite setup, resources end up in freight platforms that they shouldn't. This blocks production further down the chain.

Can the train turn at any point? If it can, wagon 1 might be come wagon 9 and so on.

I don't think so. Each train is one locomotive and then two cars

I have the same experince. It happened so many times that I even built a smart splitter behind every freight platform because cleaning up the platform and the splitter is easier than cleaning up whole production line. But I have never seen it happen so I only have a theory that the train may load/unload if it randomly stops close enough to the station, e.g. on save/load or after taking wrong turn on switch.
