Can't save files after cloud sync patches

Was blasting out Satisifactory Experimental yesterday. Spent ages expanding my aluminium production and a series of complicated manufacturing setups. Then I login this morning (using the same computer) and it says sync incomplete, upload to cloud (1/1/2019) or download from cloud (13/10/2019). I click download from cloud and then my save file BOOM gone. Does anyone know how you can  recover save files? I have turned off cloud sync as it seems to be way more issues then its worth.

August 28th update: We've removed downvotes!
