Space elevator for later on

Question

I will keep this one short the space elevator should be a machine that is for late game

I don't think you can build a space elevator when you have not even unlocked coal or computers for that matter it does not feel right

so here is my suggestion put the space elevator later in the game and when you place it down you have to give it a constant amount of supplies and in return it gives your access to later tiers or even radioactive waist removal or portal systems for your belt to connect across the map (extreme late game of course) and it gets progressively harder to get the supplies for the next tier

Besides the requirement on constant feed, that's exactly what the elevator does now. And the constant feed might be either long term goal or an abandoned idea, otherwise the six inputs on the elevator don't make much sense since all constant amount deliveries can be done manually.

What you actually build is the ground anchor for the space elevator. The actual elevator is lowered from space.
