August 28th update: We've removed downvotes! One major reason is because we don't want to discourage folks from posting legitimate suggestions / reports / questions with fear of being mass downvoted (which has been happening a LOT). That is not the design purpose of the space elevator. You are -NOT- supposed to be able to ride it in to space. It's only there to take our supplies and go off. It is not a personnel transport. You are wasting your time and effort and resources to build that ramp to nothing and they will never add "seats" or anything else to the space elevator because that's not why it's there.
