Useful Space Elevator

Question

Would be used for to drop Nuclear Waste into deep space, or recycle it into another stuff, or combining Nuclear Waste (as ingredient) with something for to send it into space... Space Elevator would have almost infinite usages!

Nuclear waste is not supposed to be disposed of or recycled. It's supposed to be a challenge to deal with it because that's the trade-off for using nuclear power. If they made nuclear waste recyclable or consumable then there would be nothing negative about using nuclear power and it would be "Free", which would be terrible and bad.

Well... that means, the game have an END (death) if you use Nuclear power. Will be a day when you have no space for dispose the waste. Literally you are producing something undestructible and using space. But there are solutions, for example... a Build where only can be accesible with the truck/tractor for send it to space or destroy it, the consecuence would be a a disease or vehicle damages and need maintainance.

Nope. Right now we can build up to 3KM up in the sky if you wished and place the storage boxes so high that it would never effect you on the ground. Already, right now in the game. There are ways in-game to deal with it.  Or you can find the edge of the map by the one ocean, build down-wards underneath the terrain and build down so low that it won't effect us on the ground either. Or use a splitter and split it up so it's half in the sky and half under the terrain. There's lots of ways to deal with it already. People just aren't building properly.

Sorry AquaVixen but that doesn't make any sense. Everything in this game is free. I can mine copper out of the ground, turn it into copper ingots, craft those ingots into wire and then drag that wire to my trash can without incurring any cost. But suddenly it's nuclear power that needs to incur a cost to use it, even though biomass and fuel don't have any costs either? No, it's a made up mechanic that the developers want to inflict on us without any reason. In other words, if nuclear waste is a cost then everything else should have one.

@FTLNewsFeed Yep. It's a made up cost they wanted to put in their game because it's their game and that's how they coded it. And we either deal with it or don't use nuclear. That's the choice at the moment. They wanted us to have a cost and penalty for using it so that's how the game is. Right now they want us to have to deal with waste and they don't want waste to be able to be destroyed so that's how it is. Personally I don't mind it at all. Once you set up a waste storage system it's trivial and super easy to deal with. Given how we have literally unlimited resources in the game we can easily craft enough storage boxes to contain 2-3 years worth of real life play time before the boxes would be full of nuclear waste. It's not even an issue. Just build boxes, store it correctly and enjoy extremely super efficient nuclear power and happy happy joy joy for everyone. Everyone that's complaining about nuclear waste are just literally being whiny crybabies that want to complain for no reason. Man up and deal with waste already.

If only it were so easy! If all we had to do was bin it in some corner of the map it would be one thing, but you're forgetting that nuclear waste comes with a radioactive component that literally will kill you if you're not wearing protective gear (and eats up resources if you do.) That makes those areas of the map unplayable. So what you may so crassly dismiss as being just whiny crybabies, has made us to cry with good reason.

Read above. There's ways in-game to build it above and below the normal play area for nuclear storage so it won't effect us at ground level. The radioactive component is also trivial and won't effect normal gameplay if you store it correctly. The problem is most people either don't understand how to do this or don't know how to do it and think that storing nuclear waste will "make half of the map uninhabitable". Sure.. if you don't store it correctly, yeah it would. But if you store it correctly you would never know it's even there.
