I have noticed while playing Satisfactory that I am able to pick items up from a conveyor belt but I am not able to place them back down on to the conveyor belt, I believe that it would be pretty cool to have this as a feature, as it add a whole new element to how people can make their machines as well as give the opportunity to make an inventory dump system without having to go into an inventory.

While you can't (yet?) add items directly to a belt, you can drop them in the output slot of a machine that outputs onto the belt -- provided there's room.

I'd like to see a logistic building that's like a funnel where you can just click and drag (or Shift Click) items from your inventory and have them get placed onto an outgoing conveyor belt.

You could use a container to create a drop-off point

I think we can! Did you try to click and drop from your inventory ?

Update to this, you can drag and drop items onto a conveyor belt; however the game doesn't register this and the item just sits on the belt, not moving.
