Programming this computer could be done with a flowchart styled interface or just pure programming. This would be used to manage the flow of materials, control tractors, lights, etc. Potentially there could also be added screens to show interactable menus that the users create to show material production, energy production/usage, etc.

Being able to develop statistics programs over material production and showing graphs on screens would be awesome.

Just to further explain, this wouldn't change speed nor power consumption but rather be able to set timers and requests for items or maybe only craft a certain item when it is needed. It should not be game changing and only provide QoL improvements to those who need it. I myself have played a lot of Factorio and found myself building all sorts of contraptions with the logic, but i always missed the feature of programmability, so that is why i have suggested this.

I think this will be too much. I would prefer moduls that i can insert into machines and configurate them with that.

Like less power consume or faster working (already ingame) or for power a modul that we can attach more power cable on it not only one.

If i must programming anything ingame it would be boring and goes away from the original playstyle.

Statistics are good but this could be done from CS inside the Hub computer where we can click through serveral statistics and menu watching numbers and charts.

Programming would in my opinion actually fit the style of the game, since it is a game about optimizing your factory and programmability would help with that.
