This is a little different than the other elevator cost suggestions, so I won't rehash those arguments. I'll keep this short and sweet.

The elevator has SIX input ports, so give us a reason to use them! I'm sure the tier 7/8 elevator tier is expensive, but I think each elevator delivery should include all the costs of the previous tiers with an increase. This will give us a reason to scale up on all production and give us an adequate resource sink since all ore nodes are infinite. As it stands in EA, it's a little underwhelming, and I'm sure it will change over time as the game is balanced but I wanted to add my 2 cents.

Nah.  In a sense it already does.  First one requires Hardened plates and rotors. Tier 1 requires frames and motors.  Frames require hardened plates and a ton more than the first upgrade did and motors requires rotors.

I do hope that the next upgrade requires atleast 3 separate items but there is no need to go straight to 4-6 items early on.  I would say the biggest thing needed is an increase to the amount of each item the space elevator requires.  There's really no need for me to use the input ports currently as 500 modular frames can easily be stored in a container and carried in my inventory to the elevator.

I get that, I do, but tier 5/6 feels pretty cheap, and with only two tiers left (probably in one elevator cycle), 6 inputs feels too many or the requirements too few.  I disagree that simply end products fill that gap, as all resources are needed to build different things. Simultaneously my suggestion would encourage players to make sure everything is automated.
