Being able to save a friends game

Hey, first time posting on here.

I have a friend that i'm playing the game with right now and were both finding it really great however, he is going to be going away for a couple of days and then I thought it would bee a great game mechanic if you were able to save a friends game and be able to load said game and continue on with the save file until the person came back. Now I don't know if there is a reason that this isn't in the game so if there is, please enlighten me.

This exact thing happened to me.

Dedicated server download would also be a 'fix'
