I'll be honest, no. I'm preferring discovering things by myself, trying to stay away from videos and stuff. (yes, me posting, replying and talking on the forum goes against that, but there's only so much you can stay away from a game you're playing) And while I gotta agree, seeing things at distance with a low framerate (this isn't lag, lag is completely different) is a little anti-immersive, not only will the train be exactly the same, 1. Its early access, 2. If everything you could see was running at full fps, your computer would die. No, no matter how good it is, going on what you have said already, your computer could not handle that much rendering. That's why most games have a comparatively low draw distance, or just don't render / spawn things that are further away than "X".
And yea, changing recipes, alternates, etc, can cause moving things around a little, that's all in the mature of "staying efficient", which I believe is a key point in this game, considering it keeps reminding you about your efficiency and how this new milestone can improve it.
I've remodelled my own factory twice, the one I'm working on with my mate once, and then abandoned it in favour of another location that's being purpose-built for efficiency, rather than the build-as-we-go factory we started in the first location.
